You decide what comes first for a search: pin a page to the top, hide a page for one search, or hide it from every search. You can do it right on your search page, or on the Elevation tab.
On your search page
Signed in as an administrator, you see a bar under every result. Visitors never see it.
- Open your search page and search for the words you want to control, for example "pricing".
- On a result, click PIN to put it first for this search, or EXCLUDE to hide it for this search.
- EXCLUDE ALL hides the result from every search.
- REMOVE, shown once a result has rules, removes them.
- With several pinned results, drag them by their handle to set their order.
On the Elevation tab
- The table lists every rule: Query, Document, Action (PIN or EXCLUDE), Position and a Delete button.
- Add Elevation Rule: type the Search Query, the Document URL, an optional Document Title for the table, pick Pin (force to top) or Exclude (hide from results), and click Add Rule.
How rules match
- A rule applies to the exact search text it was made for. A rule for "pricing page" does not apply to "pricing". Make one rule per wording you want to control.
- EXCLUDE ALL rules apply to every search.
- Pinned results come in the order of their position, the lowest first.
Good to know
- The rules are kept in your TYPO3 database, in the
tx_opensolrsearch_elevationstable , and applied by the extension at every search. - Query Elevation is switched on in the index that Save & Connect creates, so there is nothing to enable.
- The rules apply to the TYPO3 Native search page. The Embeddable search page uses the Query Elevation of your index in the Opensolr Control Panel: Query Elevation.
