Stats

How your chat is used: how much, by whom, from where, what people look for and what your index may be missing.

The Stats page of the admin shows how your chat is used: how much, by whom, from where, what people look for, how well it answers and what your index may be missing.

01 · Opening it

Sign in to the admin and click Stats, the first tab: https://your-site/opensolr-chat/admin/stats. Choose the period at the top: Today, 7 days or 30 days. Today is compared with yesterday, 7 days with the 7 days before them. Times are in the time zone of the Assistant tab.

02 · The numbers at the top
NumberWhat it counts
MessagesEverything the visitors sent: questions to the assistant, commands and translations, each counted apart below the total
ConversationsThe conversations started in the period
VisitorsThe different IP addresses that used the chat
Signed-in usersThe different signed-in visitors, and their share of the messages. See Signed-in visitors
CountriesThe countries the visitors came from
AnsweredThe share of the messages that got their answer
No link to your siteOf the answers for which the assistant searched your site, the share that linked no page of it
First wordThe median time from the question to the first word of the answer
Errors and timeoutsThe answers that did not come
Refused by the limitsThe messages turned down by your limits: too long, too many in a conversation, too many from one visitor
RatingsThe answers your visitors rated good and bad
Answers with a clickThe share of the answers in which the visitor opened a link
03 · Day by day

Messages per day shows the last 30 days, each day split into answered, failed and refused messages. Point at a day to read its numbers.

04 · Who and from where
  • Countries: every country with its flag, and its messages, conversations and visitors.
  • Signed-in users: each email with its country, messages, conversations and the time of the last message.
  • Languages of the browsers of the conversations started.

The country of a visitor is found from the IP address, once per address, with the Opensolr API, after the answer was sent, so no visitor waits for it. A private or local address has no country.

05 · What people look for, and what your index may be missing
  • What people search for: the words the assistant searched your site for. They are what your visitors actually want, in their own words.
  • Searched the site, answered with no link: the latest questions for which the assistant searched your site and answered without linking any page of it. When the same subject comes back here, your index has no page that answers it.
06 · Pages and links
  • Pages cited the most: the pages of your site the answers link to.
  • Links opened from the answers: what the visitors clicked in the chat.
  • Pages people ask from: the pages of your site the chat was used on.
  • What the assistant used: its searches (by meaning, for the exact words, for the latest), the documents it read and the lookups it made.
  • Commands and translations: the commands your visitors use, such as /search or /translate.
07 · From a number to the conversations

Every country, email, search, link and page on the Stats page is a link. It opens the History with only the conversations behind it, for the same period.

Fast whatever the traffic.

The numbers are counted as each message is answered, so the page reads them at once, whether your chat had ten questions or a million.
