A message that starts with a command is answered at once, without waiting for the assistant. Anything else your visitors write is answered by the assistant from your site.

/at the start of a message and the list of commands opens above the message box, narrowing as you type. Arrow Up and Arrow Down choose, Enter or Tab picks one, Escape closes the list. - The
?button in the header lists every command with what it does and an example. Clicking an example puts it in the message box, ready to change and send. - A command with nothing after it answers with how to write it, except
/timeand/ip, which then answer for the visitor’s own location. - A command that does not exist answers with the list of commands.
/search <words>Searches this site and lists the pages, products and PDF pages that match, each with its link. Up to six results, each with its price when it is a product, its date, a short passage and up to three PDF pages.
/time <place, coordinates or IP address>The local date and time right now at a place, at coordinates or where an IP address is. Without anything after it: your own local time.
/rate <amount> <currency> to <currency>Today’s exchange rate between currencies (three-letter codes), and the amount converted. Add a date as YYYY-MM-DD for a past day. The amount is optional, and several currencies can follow to, separated by commas.
/vat <country codes>The standard and the reduced VAT rates of one or more European countries or the United Kingdom (two-letter codes, separated by commas).
/vatcheck <VAT number>Checks whether an EU or UK VAT number is valid, and gives the company name and address it is registered to. Several numbers can be checked at once, separated by commas.
/distance <place> to <place>The straight-line distance between two places, addresses or coordinates, in kilometres and miles.
/place <place, address or coordinates>Finds a place or a street address and gives its coordinates, region and country; give coordinates (latitude,longitude) to learn what is there. Each answer has a map link.
/postal <postal code or town>Finds postal codes and the street addresses that have them: a code, a code and a town, or a town and a country.
/ip <IP address>Where an IP address is: country, region, city, time zone and a map link. Without anything after it: your own approximate location.
/language <text>Detects the language of a text and measures its sentiment (positive, negative or neutral; measured on English text).
/translate <from>-<to> <text>Translates a text into another language, written as it comes. Write the two languages as codes from the table of language codes, joined by a hyphen (en-es: from English into Spanish), or only the language to translate into (es), and the language of the text is recognized. Quotation marks around the whole text are left out.

The 109 codes /translate knows are in the chat: ?, then Table of language codes under /translate. Each code is listed with the language’s name in English and in the language itself, and the search box finds a language or a code as you type.
- Commands do not count toward the questions per conversation, and the assistant does not see them as questions of the conversation.
- They do count toward the questions per visitor, like any other message.
- Dates in their answers, like the date of a
/searchresult, are in the time zone set on the Assistant tab.
