The History page of the admin keeps every conversation of the last 30 days: who asked, from where, what the assistant searched for and what it answered.
Click History in the admin: https://your-site/opensolr-chat/admin/history. The conversations come newest first, 50 per page, with Older and Newest at the bottom. Each row shows:
- the time of the last message, the visitor (the email when signed in, otherwise Anonymous), the country with its flag and the city, and the IP address;
- the page the conversation started on, the number of messages and the first question;
- marks for a conversation with an error, with an answer that had no link to your site, with an answer rated bad, or with a link the visitor opened.
| Filter | Keeps the conversations |
|---|---|
| Period | of today, the last 7 days or the last 30 days |
| Visitors | of signed-in visitors, or of anonymous ones |
| Country | from one country, or from an unknown one |
| Show | with an error or a timeout, with an answer that had no link, with an answer rated bad, or with a link opened |
| of one signed-in visitor | |
| IP address | from one IP address |
| Page | with a question asked on one page |
| Words | with those words in a question, an answer or a search of the assistant |
The filters add up. Each one in use is shown above the list with a cross that removes it. In the list itself, every email, country, IP address and page is a link that filters on it.
The search by words needs the full-text search of SQLite (FTS5), which most PHP builds have. Without it, the Words filter is not shown and every other filter works.
Click a conversation to open it whole, in a large window over the list:
- at the top: the visitor, the place, the IP address, the number of messages, when it started and ended, the browser’s language and the page;
- then every message: the question, what the assistant searched for and looked up, the answer with its links, the error if there was one, the time to the first word and the total time, the visitor’s rating and the links the visitor opened.
Close or Escape goes back to the list, where you were. The window has its own address, so you can send it to someone else who signs in to the admin.
From an open conversation you can delete that conversation, every conversation of its email, or every conversation of its IP address, for example when a visitor asks for their data to be removed. The admin asks once more before it deletes, and what is deleted cannot be brought back.
- For every message: the question and the answer, the time, the IP address and its country and city, the email of a signed-in visitor, the page without its query string, the language of the browser, what the assistant searched for, the links of the answer, how it ended and how long it took; then the visitor’s rating and the links opened.
- Refused messages (too long, too many) are counted in the Stats, not kept.
- 30 days. Everything older is deleted by itself. All of it stays in the chat’s own data folder on your server.
