Where they came from

What kind of thing sent each visit, and which site did. A referrer is a claim, and the page says so.

Where they came from answers two questions: what kind of thing sent each visit (search, paid ad, social, an AI assistant, another site, or nothing), and which site did. It sits under Visitors in the panel.

01 · What sent them

Every channel Loghound recognises, including the ones with no traffic, with Visits, Share and what each channel means. The channels are the referrer types on Networks, referrers, crawlers.

A referrer is a claim

Browsers drop it moving from https to http, privacy settings remove it, and a client that wants to look like a search click can simply say it was one. Direct is what is left over when no referrer arrived: bookmarks, typed addresses, apps and stripped headers. It is not a count of people who typed your address in.

02 · Which site sent them

The referring sites, with Visits and Share of referred visits. Visits that sent no referrer are counted in the card above, not here. Sort by site or by visits.

03 · Who is counted

Both cards start on Humans only. Switch to Everyone or Bots & crawlers on the card, or export it as a CSV file. To compare channels between two periods, use SEO Tools.
