A section of the panel where every number is shown for two periods side by side: the one you pick and the one you compare it with. It sits in the navigation right below Visitors.
There is no separate humans-or-bots switch on these pages. The population is whatever the filter rail says, so “humans only” is the Verdict filter, set once, and every page, chart and export on SEO Tools honours it.
- Presets. Today so far, yesterday, the last 7, 28 or 90 days, this month so far and last month — each compared with the period immediately before it.
- Any two calendar ranges. Pick both yourself, back to the first day your index holds; the date pickers stop there, because a comparison with days that were never recorded is not a comparison.
- Like for like. A period that is still running is compared with the same stretch of the other one: today until now against yesterday until the same clock time, never against the whole of yesterday.
- Calendar days are your days. Day boundaries are drawn in the display timezone set on the settings page, not in UTC.
Visits are counted in the period they arrived in, and only visits that loaded at least one page are counted at all.
| Page | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Scorecard | The headline figures for both periods — visits, visitors, pageviews, pages per visit, one-page visits, landing pages, visits from search engines, AI assistants, social networks and other sites, and median engaged time — with the change between them, and both periods drawn over time. |
| Channels | Where visits came from, by channel, as bars, as a table and as a line per channel over time. |
| Search engines & AI | The search engines and AI assistants that sent visits, by the site that sent each one. |
| Landing pages | The pages visits arrived on, and how each one moved between the two periods. |
| Referring sites | The other sites that sent visits. |
| Countries & devices | Countries, regions, cities, devices, browsers and operating systems. |
| Engagement by channel | Whether a channel sends people who read: visits, pages per visit, one-page visits and engaged time per channel, for both periods. |
| Crawlers | Declared crawlers with the pages they fetched, their 4xx and 5xx answers, and how many of their requests were confirmed by reverse DNS. |
| Crawled, not visited | The pages crawlers fetch most, beside the visits the matching channel actually sent to them — the list of pages search engines keep reading and nobody arrives on. |
The two crawler pages read the request log, where a visit’s verdict does not exist, and each says which filters it could not apply rather than applying them silently.
- Ranked by change. Every table that ranks values can be ordered by biggest gains, biggest losses, most visits now, new and gone.
- A chart on every page. Search engines and AI, landing pages, referring sites and countries and devices draw this period beside the comparison period for the rows the table ranks. Engagement by channel compares channels on visits, pages per visit, one-page visits or engaged time. Crawlers draws requests per crawler with their 4xx and 5xx answers, and Crawled, not visited draws crawler requests beside the visits each page received. A desktop shows the top twelve rows and a phone the top eight.
- A CSV behind every table. Each export carries both periods and the choices on screen in its header, so the file says exactly which comparison it holds.
