Pages

Entry pages measured, exit pages honestly called a guess, and pages ranked by change.

Pages answers the three page questions: where people arrive, where they leave, and which pages are gaining or losing visits. It sits under Visitors in the panel and counts every visit in the period, people and bots alike; use the verdict filter to look at people only.

01 · Where people arrive

The first request of each visit, with Visits, Left straight away (visits that never went anywhere else) and Share. This is measured directly from the log; nothing is guessed.

02 · Where the log last saw them

The last request of each finished visit. This one is a guess, and the card says so: once somebody stops requesting things the log goes quiet, whether they closed the tab or kept reading for ten minutes, and a page shown from the browser cache leaves no log line.

  • By default only visits that went further than one request are counted, because for a single request the exit page is just the entry page.
  • You can switch to All visits or One request only.
03 · What is moving

Pages ranked by change against the period just before the one you picked, with This period, Before, Change and Movement. Two limits are printed on the card:

  • Only the busiest pages across both periods are compared, so a page that went from nothing to three visits is new but below the cut.
  • The current period runs up to now while the one before is complete, so near the start of a period everything looks slightly down.

Every card can be exported as a CSV file. For the most requested paths overall, see Overview.
