EzCMD: Email Validator and Domain Name Lookup, With REST APIs
ezcmd.com has two new apps: an Email Validator that catches fake and throwaway sign-ups, and a Domain Name Lookup that tells whether a domain is taken and who holds it. Both have a web page to try them and REST APIs to build them into your own site.
01 Email Validator
- No mail is sent. The address is judged by how it is written and by its domain: does the domain exist, does it receive mail, does it publish SPF and DMARC, how old is it.
- Throwaway and free providers. Disposable email domains are recognised from a list refreshed every day, and so are free mailbox providers.
- Role addresses. info@, sales@, support@ and the like are flagged as a team, not a person.
- A clear verdict. Every answer says valid, risky or invalid, with a score and the reasons behind it.
- One or many. Check one address, 50 addresses in one call, or only the domain part.
02 Domain Name Lookup
- Taken or free, in any TLD. The answer comes from the registry itself, and "available" is said only when the registry says the name is not registered.
- Who holds it. For a registered domain: the registrar, the registration, update and expiry dates, the status and the name servers.
- Any form of the name. A bare name, a full URL or an international name; www.example.co.uk is looked up as example.co.uk.
- One name in many TLDs. Type a name once and see which TLDs are still free, up to 20 in one call.
03 A wider homepage
The ezcmd.com homepage now uses the full width of the screen: up to four apps per row on a large screen, three, two or one on smaller ones, and never a row left half empty.
