drush osstop - Stop Parallel Solr Indexing

opensolr:stop, every session or just one

drush osstop

drush osstop (full name opensolr:stop) stops indexing. Nothing is lost: the items that were being indexed stay in the queue, and the next drush ost takes them again.

drush osstop [--server=ID] [--index=ID]

Every session, or one

  • Without options: stops every running session on the machine. A run started by a version older than 2.5 is stopped too.
  • With --server and/or --index: stops only that session. Use the same --server and --index you started it with.

What it does

  1. Stops the session's main process.
  2. Deletes the session's process ID files, chunk files and state file. The log stays.
  3. Ends every worker process still left on the machine.
Stopping: my_solr_server
  Stopped master process 12345

Stopped 1 process(es).

When nothing was running, it says No running processes found.

Other sessions on the same machine
Step 3 ends the workers of every session, also when you stop just one. The other sessions keep running and repeat the round they were in, because its items are still waiting.

Examples

# Stop everything
drush osstop

# Stop one server's session
drush osstop --server=staging_solr

# Stop a session started with --index
drush osstop --index=content_index

Start again later with the same drush ost: Stop and resume.
