Opensolr Mail 1.5: A Stable, Open Source Unified Inbox for Fastmail

· Opensolr Mail · New Feature · All updates

Every Fastmail account in one inbox on Android, free and open source, with search by words and by meaning when you connect an Opensolr account.

01 One inbox for every Fastmail account

  • Unified folders: All Inboxes, Drafts, Sent, Archive, Junk, Trash and Flagged across all your accounts, in the order you choose.
  • Conversations: threads grouped by day, newest first; quoted history folded under Show quoted text; wide messages fitted to the screen.
  • Actions everywhere: swipe left to delete, right to flag, long tap to select several, with Undo; report spam, Not junk and Move to Inbox.
  • Attachments: downloaded to your phone's Downloads, then opened in the app you use for them.

02 Push, notes and calendars

03 Search in your own Opensolr Index

With an Opensolr account connected (the free plan works), your mail is indexed into a search index that belongs to you.

  • Words and meaning together: the same hybrid search as our hosted search, ordered by relevance, with an optional Fresh pull towards recent mail.
  • Attachments searched too: text read from PDF, Word, RTF, OpenDocument and plain text files, and from pictures.
  • AI answers: an answer written only from the first results you see.
  • Always current: what you delete, move or flag reaches the index within seconds, and the index tools (Index now, Stop, Repair, Reindex, Clean, Reset) are in Settings.

Without an Opensolr account there is no search, and new mail comes with a sync every 15 minutes instead of push; everything else works the same.
