Opensolr Mail 1.14: One Signature for Every Account, With Bold, Italic and Links

· Opensolr Mail · New Feature · All updates

Opensolr Mail 1.14 adds a signature that belongs to the app, not to one account. You write it once, formatted the way you want it, and every message you send carries it, whichever of your Fastmail accounts it goes out from.

01 Write it once, formatted

  • Settings → Preferences → Signature. The box shows the signature exactly as it will look. Under it: Bold, Italic, Underline, Link and Clear.
  • Links that just work. Link asks for the words and the address. Type a site, an email address or a phone number and it becomes the right kind of link; on an existing link you can change it or remove it.
  • Clean by design. Pasted text comes in plain, and only bold, italic, underline, links and line breaks are kept, so the signature looks the same in every mail program.

02 Under every message, from every account

  • Global. The same signature goes under every new message, reply and forward, from every account in the app, and under a reply sent straight from a notification too.
  • Right after what you wrote. In a reply or forward the signature sits directly under your words and above the quoted message, and Compose shows it there while you write.
  • Text and HTML. Messages with the signature go out with a formatted version and a plain text version, so every mail program shows it well.
  • Optional. Leave it empty and the app uses the signature set on your Fastmail identity, as before.

Opensolr Mail updates itself from GitHub. If you installed it before, it offers the new version on its own within a day.
