The Opensolr homepage has been completely redesigned with a modern, clean layout — and the redesign brought three further changes with it.

01 What changed

  • A redesigned homepage. A modern, clean layout in place of the old one.
  • A step-by-step How It Works section. Written to help new users get started quickly, rather than leaving them to work out the order of things.
  • Live search demos on the homepage. The demos are now reachable directly from the front page, instead of being somewhere further in.
  • Better mobile responsiveness. Applied across all pages, not only the homepage.

02 Why it matters

The two additions answer the same question from opposite directions. How It Works explains what using Opensolr involves; the live demos let you skip the explanation and try it. Someone landing on the homepage can now take either route without leaving it.

The mobile work is site-wide — every page, not just the pages that were redesigned.
