Drupal and WordPress Live Demos Add One-Time reCAPTCHA Verification With 24-Hour Memory

· Website · Improvement · All updates

The two live proof-of-concept sites — drupal.opensolr.com and wp.opensolr.com — now show a reCAPTCHA on your first visit. Pass it once and you are remembered for 24 hours of activity.

01 What you will see

The verification appears on the first page you open. It is a single check, not a challenge on every search, and it does not apply to opensolr.com itself or to your own indexes and control panel.

Before

Every visitor, human or automated, reached the demos directly. Scripted traffic competed with real visitors for the same demo indexes.

After

One verification on first arrival, then 24 hours of activity with no further prompts.

02 Why it was added

The demos exist so you can try Drupal and WordPress search against a real index before installing anything. Automated traffic was consuming that capacity. Keeping it out means the demos stay fast for people actually evaluating them.

The 24 hours are counted from your last activity, not from the moment you verified — keep browsing and the window keeps sliding.
