What Happens When an Opensolr Renewal Payment Fails

Pricing & Billing

A renewal payment can fail when a card expires, runs out of funds or needs a confirmation from your bank. Opensolr tells you by email, and you can fix it in a minute.

01 · The email you get

Payment failed

Subject: Opensolr - Payment failed for invoice, followed by the invoice number. It shows the amount due and the reason the bank gave, with a Pay Invoice Now button that opens the invoice on Stripe.

Payment confirmation needed

When your bank asks for a 3D Secure confirmation, the email says so, with a Confirm Payment button. Confirm the payment with your bank on that page.

Who receives it

The email of your account, and the billing email of your Payment Profile when it is a different one.

02 · Fix it

Pay the invoice

Click Pay Invoice Now in the email and pay on Stripe, with the same card or another one.

Or update your card

Billing › Payment Method opens the billing portal, where you change the card: Payment profile and card. The payment is then tried again.

03 · If the invoice stays unpaid

What happens to the subscription and to your indexes after that is set in section 7.6 of the Terms and Conditions. Paying in time keeps your plan at its current price.
