API - Exchange rates (currency_rates)

Geolocation

Gives you the exchange rates of one currency, today or on a past day, and converts an amount when you send one.

01 · Parameters

baseRequired

The currency to convert from, an ISO 4217 code such as EUR.

toOptional

The currencies you want, such as USD,GBP. Without it: every currency known that day.

dateOptional

A past day, YYYY-MM-DD. Default today (UTC). Never a future day.

amountOptional

An amount in the base currency to convert.

One base is worth rate of each currency. A currency asked for and not known that day is listed in unknown. Values shown are an example.

04 · Errors

ERROR_INVALID_CURRENCYHTTP 200

base is not a three-letter code.

ERROR_INVALID_DATEHTTP 200

date is not a real past day.

ERROR_NO_RATESHTTP 200

No rates for that currency on that day.

ERROR_RATES_UNAVAILABLEHTTP 200

The rates could not be read. Retry later.

WRONG_API_HOSTHTTP 404

Called on opensolr.com. The answer carries the right URL.

ERROR_AUTHENTICATION_FAILEDHTTP 403

The email and API key do not match.

ERROR_RATE_LIMIT_PER_MINUTEHTTP 429

Too many calls. Wait for the Retry-After seconds.

Each call counts once toward your per-minute and per-hour limits, whatever the number of items: Rate limits. Lookups never use the AI allowance.
