WordPress Plugin: Sitemap Registration Fix, Setup Progress Modal and WooCommerce Meta Tags

Two setup actions in the WordPress plugin were not doing everything they claimed, and setup itself gave you nothing to look at while it worked. Both are addressed here, along with better product meta tags for WooCommerce.

01 Setup actions now complete

  • Save & Connect. It was not registering the sitemap URL with the crawler, so the crawler had no list of pages to work from. It now does.
  • Save & Start Fresh. It was not deleting the previous index, so a fresh start was not actually fresh.

02 You can see what setup is doing

Setup now shows a full-screen progress modal with step-by-step status, and reports errors as they happen rather than leaving you to guess whether anything went wrong.

03 WooCommerce meta tags

Product meta tag injection has been improved for WooCommerce, and now covers BreadcrumbList, price, currency and product categories.
