WordPress Plugin 1.0.29 and 1.0.30: Fresh Ranking, the AI Hints Full-Content Fix, and a Clearer Fresh Switch
Two releases of the WordPress plugin landed on the same day. Release 1.0.29 brings the Fresh toggle and the AI Hints full-content fix across from the hosted search page. Release 1.0.30 then moves that Fresh control to where people actually look for it.
01 Fresh ranking on your results page
A Fresh control now sits on your results page. Turning it on ranks recent content higher without hiding anything: every result that matched is still reachable, it simply moves in the order. It is the same behaviour as the Fresh toggle on the hosted Opensolr search page.
02 AI Hints now reads the actual pages
AI Hints previously worked from the short teaser lines shown under each result. It now reads the full content of the pages behind those results, so the answers are longer, more specific, and match what the hosted search page produces for the same query, word for word.
AI Hints summarised the teaser lines only, and answers were thinner than the ones on the hosted search page.

03 Fresh becomes a switch, beside AI Hints
In 1.0.30 the Fresh control moved up next to AI Hints and became an on/off switch. The ranking behaviour is unchanged; what changed is that its current state is visible at a glance, and it is comfortable to tap on a phone.
04 Getting the update
- From WordPress admin. Update the plugin in place from your Plugins screen.
- From the WordPress plugin directory. Release 1.0.30 is available there now.
- Direct download. The packaged plugin is also available as a zip download.
