Support Tickets: Open One Right From the Control Panel, and Who Can Send Them
Open a support ticket without leaving the Control Panel. Support › New Ticket and the New Ticket button of My Tickets now open the same form as https://opensolr.com/contact, in place, and the new ticket shows up in My Tickets at once.
01 The ticket form
- Write your own subject. The subject is a text field. Click it to pick one of the usual subjects from the list, or type what your question is about.
- Name the indexes it is about. Search your indexes by name and add them to the ticket, so the answer starts from the right place.
- Your message, exactly as you typed it. Code, slashes, quotes and XML reach Opensolr support unchanged.
02 Who can open tickets
- Accounts on a paid plan, and the members of their teams.
- Free accounts with at least one Opensolr Index. Create your first index, then send the ticket.
- Everyone else sees why instead of the form, and where to go: a paid plan, the team of a paying customer, or the Opensolr community on Reddit.
03 Email to help@opensolr.com
- For paid plans and their teams, from the address you sign in with. Mail from other addresses comes back undelivered.
- Answers read like in your mail app. In My Tickets, a mail written in HTML keeps its formatting and links, and the earlier mails quoted under a reply stay folded until you open them.
The rules, and what to do when a mail comes back: Why can't I send support tickets?
