Search Tuning: Six Per-Index Relevancy Controls With No Reindexing Required

· Search · New Feature · All updates

Search Tuning puts six relevancy controls in Index Settings. Each index is tuned on its own, and changes take effect on the next search.

01 The six controls

ControlWhat it governs
field weightsHow much a match in each field counts towards the score
freshness boostHow far recency lifts a document
minimum match modeHow much of a multi-word query a document must satisfy
semantic vs keyword balanceThe weighting between the vector and the keyword leg
result quality thresholdHow weak a match may be and still be returned
results per pageHow many results a page shows

02 Independent, and immediate

Every index is tuned independently, so a documentation index and a product catalogue on the same account do not have to share a setting. Changes save automatically and apply on the next search — no reindexing, and no restart.
