Every AI Answer Now Knows Today’s Date
A language model has no clock. Asked “what did we agree last month” or “how many days until the renewal”, it used to guess at what day it was, and the guess was often a year or two behind. Every AI answer on the platform now receives today’s date.
01 What changed
- Today’s date, in every answer. Every request to the model ends with today’s date, in UTC, so “last week”, “this year”, “two months ago” or “how long ago” in a question are read against the real calendar.
- One way to write a date. The model is told to write every date as MM/DD/YYYY, the format the platform uses everywhere, so an answer never mixes day-first and month-first dates.
- Everywhere at once. The AI answer on hosted search pages, the AI Summary API, the Document Reader and the AI answer in Opensolr Mail all go through the same service, so all of them got it on the same day.
- Nothing to change on your side. Endpoints and parameters stay the same.
