Facet Filter Sidebar, Fixed Search Header, Loading Overlay and a More Reliable Highlighter

The search page gains a facet filter sidebar for narrowing results by category, price, date and any structured field, along with three changes to how the results page behaves while you use it.

01 Facet filter sidebar

Visitors can now filter search results by category, price, date and any structured field. The sidebar supports list facets, numeric sliders and date range pickers. Long facet lists open in a "Show more" dialog with a letter index for browsing, and active filters appear as removable pills above the results.

Facets are configured from the admin panel under Search Facet Filters.

02 The results page while you use it

  • Fixed header. The search header now stays at the top while you scroll through results, keeping the search box and controls within reach.
  • Loading overlay. Search transitions show an overlay with animated dots, so you can see the search is working. This matters most on slower connections and large indexes.

03 Highlighting that works in short fields

Result highlighting has switched to a more reliable highlighter, which correctly highlights keywords in short fields such as titles. The structured text field text_t has also been added to the highlighted fields, giving richer snippets.
