How to enable Two Factor Authentication

Data Security

Two-factor authentication adds a second step to your Opensolr login: after your password, a code sent to your phone. It takes about a minute to switch on and it applies from your next login.

Enabling 2FA is a one-time setup. From then on every login asks for the code.

01 · Turn it on

Sign in to your Opensolr account

Go to opensolr.com/users/login with your usual email and password.

Open User, then Two Factor Authentication

Direct link: opensolr.com/admin/solr_manager/tfa.

Enter your phone number

This is the number the login code is sent to. Use a phone you carry, not a desk line.

Log out and back in

Your next logout and login will ask for the code. That is the confirmation that it is active.

Two-factor authentication protects the account, which is the key to every index on it. If several people share one Opensolr login, give each of them their own account through Teams instead, and let each one carry their own second factor.
