An Opensolr plan is assembled from four resources. You buy more of the one you ran out of, not a bigger bundle, and the change is pro-rated to the day.
01 · The four resources
Standalone Opensolr indexes, in the region you choose. Most accounts need one per application or per environment.
A group of servers behaving as one index, with load balancing and read and write separation.
The storage used by each of your indexes or clusters.
The outgoing traffic from Opensolr to your site or app. This is what a busy search page consumes.
02 · When to upgrade
Two situations: you have outgrown the free plan, or you have run out of one of the four resources above. Running out of one does not mean you need more of the others.
03 · Worked example: out of disk space
Open your index list
Go to the Opensolr control panel and click the index you want to inspect.

The Solr Admin link in your index control panel reports the current index size, which is the number to trust while you are actively indexing.
